Pictures Tell 1000 Words part 3.

If I ever write a book about all this, this is the opening picture or one of them.

The competition started within a few days

Went to toy store, stopped for pizza

Watching movies or cartoons. Kids were sometimes stir crazy. Ipad saves the day.

Dinner. Pork, Brussel Sprouts. Sauerkraut. They all love it!

Nauris the Engineer! He has three robots or machines now.

Ice Skating!

Where is Aleks?

 There he is!

Our Realtor and friend Andrew Grinvalds is of Latvian decent. Coincendentally, he traveled there while we were in Riga. He could actually be one of our children if we had gotten married years before. :-)

More Wrastlin'

McDonald's. Not great, but the kids had never been. I made a promise when I was a teenager. If I could visit a foreign country I would always go to McDonald's there. Just to say I did. So, I did.

The Statue of Freedom, just before Easter

NellieRooRooRoo! We love you, you, you!

Got a bit of snow one night. What did we do? Climb trees.

Po from Kung Fu Panda showed up at the park. We had seen the movie just two days earlier. Of course Wendy rushed over for a picture and had to be first. (OK that part is not true but it makes a good story)

We now return you to our regularly scheduled tree climbing.

Mom plays cards with Dite. Those PJ's are several sizes too big.

The courthouse in Nereta, Visited there, three times? Will again too.

A small church in Nereta. The trio's home village.

Our address in Latvia. We didn't know it until one of our neighbors got a package.

Bought them books. They consumed them! (Well Nauris and Jaenelle did) Nauris 3 sci-fi books. Jaenelle read To Kill a Mockingbird.

Even dad can color. Sort of looks like me, only not as ugly.

Jack and Jaenelle thought this was a capitol building. It does sort of look like the Iowa Capitol. This is actually a large Orthodox Church.

Architechture of Riga. Back of the French Embassy

Old Riga

Mom

Bastion Hill

The Statue on Easter

A ped mall area. They had a big swing out for people. A bunch of motorcycles out across the street too.

Family resting their feet after a nice long walk in Old Riga.

Chilling out on the bank of the canal around the old city.

The outside of our apartment.

Through the tunnel

To the door.

Nauris is certainly handsome

The door on the left.

Jaenelle asked for a pomegranate for her birthday.

Jaenelle dressed up on her birthday

Out to dinner just two days before we left. Aleks' bowl for his ice cream was made of ice.

The park in front of our apt. at night.

HOME! Kids on bikes the day after we get home!

Took them to DQ one night.

Chance is happy we are home, I think the kids took this picture with my phone.

Nauris is not amused.

But he might just be amusing!

Jack plays Tee Ball and gets his first hit. He legitimately legs this out.

Our stable of bicyles.

Dite gets ahold of sidewalk chalk and becomes a clown!

Dite and Chloe (one of the neighborhood girls)

Shopping for mothers day. Barnes and Noble had a guy in a Storm Trooper suit!

Dite is getting glasses. She is not happy about it. I had to make her smile.

Mother's Day Dinner!

I am a father of five now, this is my usual face.

Mother's Day. Chance had to get into  it. He even flashed his evil eyes for us.

A picture from when Ron and Donna visited. We are usually this happy, usually.
